Who We Are
Regenesis through Design. A New Life Company.
QuitoFoods builds on three decades of innovation at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, genomic design, and equitable trade.
We began in the Fairtrade movement, helping small producers in Ecuador reach the world.
Today, we help the world reach back — restoring ecosystems, rewriting the code of crops, and reimagining how food systems sustain life itself.
Our mission is simple: feed the planet without costing it.
From the soil biome to the data cloud, every layer of our system is designed to restore balance — intelligently, transparently, and forever.
Our Beginning
Born from activism, grown through innovation.
In the early 2000s, our founder Sebastián Espejo forged partnerships between Latin American farming cooperatives and early Silicon Valley bio-labs.
That dialogue between human hands and machine insight continues to define us.
Today, our collaborations extend from Quito’s regenerative test farms to neural-sequencing greenhouses in California and with the network of New Life Ventures’ partners.
We believe that true sustainability begins when technology learns to listen to the land.
About
QuitoFoods is a next-generation agritech company advancing the frontier of Regenetic Engineering™ — the intelligent editing of plant genomes for resilience, carbon capture, and circular nutrition.
Our focus areas include:
Gene-adaptive crops that regenerate degraded soil through engineered root symbiosis.
Closed-loop nutrient systems that recycle carbon and nitrogen in real time.
Distributed growing infrastructure powered by AI-assisted cultivation and micro-farm sensors.
We work across continents and disciplines, linking traditional farming networks with synthetic biologists, climate engineers, and distributed AI systems.
“The next revolution in food is not about abundance — it’s about repair.”
